About Me
My name is Chris. I’m currently 26 years old and out of college. I work as a freelance web designer and full time for the State of Georgia as a web designer & media specialist.
Every since I can remember people have told me I have the mind of a millionaire, and that they just knew one day I’d be one. That’s a pretty hard expectations to live up to but I’ll try. The facts are there just not enough hours in a day to successfully get everything done and have some down time too. Currently I work four 10 hour days and when I’m not there I’m home working on gaining my next client or fulfilling the needs of my current clients. 10 hours plus 2-4 more per day setting in front of a computer, you can imagine how fast I burn out, but I keep telling myself work all I can while I’m young, get the house paid for then, I can cut back on work, hangout with my wife and grow us a family of our own. My goal is to quit web designing, quit freelancing and start living my life, without time constraints. The only way to achieve this goal is money. We all know money doesn’t just grow on trees. So what’s my plan? You will just have to follow along and see how I progress. The ultimate goal is to make a full time living online by the time I’m 40 or hopefully much sooner than that.
When it comes to entrepreneurship, I’ve always leaned towards it ever since I sold fruit rollups in elementary school to my fellow students for $1.00 each (my cost was about $.35 each). My little brain was full of ideas every since I can remember. I had people working for me on and off by the time I was 15. I found myself solving problems of people in my town. Going house to house fixing computers, teaching people how to use programs, and now designing websites and blogs for companies and individuals trying to enter the 21st century.
Starting my own blog was sure to come somewhere down the line. I’m very interested in technology, the internet and business. If anything, I’m surprised that it took me so long to do so, but I think it must have had something to do with my general lack of time due to other projects.
How I started howwesavemoney.com
Launching a website was nothing new for me, I’d build tons of sites for various clients. Back in early 2009, I was searching for an outlet for my interests and ideas, and stumbled upon the idea of blogging. Plus, I enjoyed learning new technologies and WordPress is my 3rd love. I decided to launch a blog fill it with my thoughts and ideas on general finance, technology, etc and put it out there and see if I could monetize it.
As I started doing some research and learning about people who were making money on their blogs, I decided to put some real effort into it. I knew if I could get some traffic, I’d figure out a way to make money.
The thing that really bothered me, however, was that it seemed like most people talked about the same stuff over and over. Plus, most of the things talked about are already talked about other people who do a better job of it! For example, why would I talk about the newest iphone when it just came out and everyone is talking about it.
My Goals With howwesavemoney.com
My general goal is to build a relationship with my readers. To be able to throw an idea out there and have others comment and give me feedback. I want to be totally into social media, who needs facebook when I have my own blog and army of followers right? Oh yeah and my ultimate goal is to make my living from my blog by selling ads, recommending products, and any other avenue I can find.
